I’ve just finished a new Oval Monochrome Landscape painting. I’m just back from Lake Como where they had a lot of these wonderful trees…
So, they proved a big inspiration for my painting, as you can see. The mountain landscapes around Italy are beautiful, and it was a perfect venue for the wedding I attended there.

I recently went to see The Lone Ranger, and it reminded me of my love of Wild West Landscapes. I also recently admired a lovely set of vintage Wild West landscape photographs. These bits of inspiration somehow led to this small drawing,
Original Monochrome Owl, Northern Saw-whet Owl, Pen and Ink Drawing Owl in Black and White
This owl drawing is of a Northern Saw-whet owl, which I only learned about recently. This is a tiny owl, only about seven inches high, the same weight as a robin. It has lovely eyes, in my drawing they are only half open, because he’s relaxing in a tree, but when the owl is on the hunt they are open wide.
A Pen and Ink illustration, painted over with watercolor of some of my favourite garden herbs- rosemary, mint, parsley, thyme and basil.
I love the visual at the end of this film. I like Audrey Hepburn anyway, and she is stunning in this movie, every dress she wears is beautiful. I got this as part of a box set that includes Sabrina, another great feelgood movie.
