Hand-crafted Christmas Ornaments

Image

I don’t know about anybody else, but I am a huge Christmas ornament enthusiast. I love all Christmas crafts. Last year, I got absolutely hooked on Kirstie Allsopp’s Christmas Show

If you live in the UK, you can watch some on the 4oD link above, it’s not actually my favourite one which is ‘Handmade Christmas’, but some of the ‘Perfect Christmas’ episodes have handmade gift tips. She also does shows about upcycling and re-upholstering and lots of fun things. She also did a nice series about entering craft fairs around Britain. If you’re a craft freak, it’s worth a look! There was one show where they had to make a display themed around The Secret Garden, which was a lovely challenge. I remember her making a needle-felted robin for the display, which is probably part of the inspiration for me sewing my own.

This year, I have been making a LOT of ornaments- mainly robins, doves, snowmen, Christmas Trees and hearts.

If you’ve been making Christmas/ Holiday ornaments, I would love to hear of them/ see a link in the comments.

For these I made my own templates and then used sequins, felt, fleece, buttons, ribbon, sequins, baker’s twine and cotton thread, and just hand- stitched everything. I recommend having a good Christmas movie on in the background.

I hope everyone is enjoying the Holiday season.
